STAFF SPOTLIGHT - LINDA GUIHODNA

April 24, 2018

1/5

I am Rizalinda C. Guihodna from Aguinaldo Ifugao. We are 8 siblings in the family. I am 51 years old. I don’t have children on my own but I have adopted child who is now 13 years old, she is my niece and her name is Hannabel Guihodna.

I finished High School by the help of YWAM Olongapo ministry, I took ALS- Alternative Learning System to accelerate. When I was a child, I was away from my family that’s why I was not able to go to school. When I was a child my mom was sick for years and my father sold our property and we became very poor. I was seven years old that time when I went away from my family to find a job. On my first job, my employer didn’t pay me, so I just worked for food only.

Before I went to YWAM, I worked in the bar in Olongapo as a waitress. It was Virgie who reached out to me. I have been working with different job before, like working as a housemaid, taking care of a child as a nanny, selling goods and others. Virgie asked me that time what was my plan, I don’t know what to answer, so she told me to pray. She gave me a form to fill up, that was a form to apply for DTS- Discipleship Training School. Honestly, I still didn’t understand that time that’s why I had a lot of complain. But it was where God encountered me and spoke to me about Isaiah 43:1 But now, this is what the LORD says-- he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

I was sent to DTS last 2011 in Palawan Philippines, I had a great experience that enriched my relationship with God. I am working out how to obey God and His will for my life, to understand His word and be able to share it to others.

After taking DTS, I came back to YWAM Olongapo and I became a staff, now I am serving YWAM Olongapo ministry extension in Pasay Manila, I am sharing devotion to the women working in IJM paper/ card production. Regarding to my future plans, as of now I am praying to join a second level school in YWAM, it might be a counseling school, Lord willing.
