During the first week of September, 10 of our staff including our base leaders were able to travel to Pattaya, Thailand to join the YWAM Together conference. There were almost 4000 YWAMers attending from over 100 different nations. It was a very refreshing time for each of us and we are so thankful for all those who made it possible for us to get there.
Getting there was a test as we had some issues in immigration, but it showed us a lot and also showed us how much God wanted us to go to Thailand, we are thankful for all those who helped out during that time and so thankful for God's provision. Talking to another staff member from another base in the Philippines, it was clear that there was some spiritual warfare going on and it showed us the importance of perserviering and really standing on the truth no matter what.
It was a very full week of worship, intercession, teaching, seminars and a day of outreach around the city. It was great to hear from the founders of YWAM and various leaders as well as different leaders from Asia. Every day had different cultural presentations and testimonies and it really gave us a heart for the nations. Right now YWAM really has a passion to see a BIble in every household throughout the world. During the outreach day we were able to be a part of Bible distribution and also got the chance to minister in the Red-Light district which opened our eyes to what it was like in a country other than the Philippines. The teaching times allowed us to really see God's heart and the part that we have to play. It also encouraged us to not give up in what God is calling us to do.
We have come away from the conference with more passion, more contacts and more hunger to be a part of what God is doing and are eager to continue to water what God was doing in us in Thailand. It was so refreshing to get out of our own base and see just how big the bigger YWAM family is, even though only a small fraction were attending.
Glory to God for all he has done, is doing and will do.
