Isaiah 61:1-3 New King James Version (KJV)
The Year of the Lord’s Favor
1“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
Annual Planning Update:
We had our 3-day staff annual planning last January 16-18. It was awesome experience that we had started it with seeking God and reaching His heart for a bible verse to stand on for the year 2018. Our first day was really soaked in prayer in hearing His heart for our personal lives and in corporate as YWAM Olongapo family. It was empowering to hear from each staff what the Lord have spoken to us and the verses we can cling to. God is truly a God of Love- and His desire is for us to walk in the experiential revelation of His unfathomable love. All the verses that we got was directing to His love. Amazing! After that, we had individual sharing about our hearts and ministry.
Where the Lord is leading us for this year 2018? What specific assignments and responsibilities that we will perform? Each of us staff had given our insights, direction, agenda and shared what's in our hearts. We are all thankful that in this ministry we can be free to grow in our giftings and skills and be able to do the things that we are passionate about. The individual sharing caused us to appreciate the diverse and different ministry strength of everyone. It's beautiful! The second day, we talked about finances. Here, we had open discussion about the ministry's monthly expenses like monthly bills, food budget, every ministry department budget, etc.
We also discussed the corporate strengths and weaknesses as a ministry staff team. We evaluate them for us to learn and grow as well as to pursue development. The areas of our strength includes being family oriented, goal oriented, exhibit servanthood, function in teams, taking initiative, easily to forgive, understanding and accepting one another. While the area of our weaknesses includes lack of communication and sending regular updates, lack of prioritizing prayer, holding back due to fear, some unbelief, lack of prioritizing the priorities and lack of verbal encouragement. As we evaluate our strengths and weaknesses, we are hoping to grow and offer the best that we can individually and corporately. During the last day of our meeting, we discussed the needs, agenda and plans for every ministry department: Evangelism, discipleship, hospitality, children, kitchen, accounting, admin, Tamar foundation, as well as the Arise and Shine publication. May God's will and purposes be done through us and accomplish His work to bring heaven on earth.
To God be all the glory!
