Recently we were involved in a worship event in Olongapo city with many churches and youth groups. The vision was to reach out to young people and rise up a generation to be on fire for God. We joined with churches and teams from various places in the Philippines as well as a team from South Korea. It was great to be a part of a multi cultural team. One God, many nations.
On the Sunday, there was an event in one of the shopping malls here in Olongapo here there were presentations and a short message. We were able to present a Hawaiian dance which one of our staff learnt during her DTS with YWAM Honolulu. It was also great to see performances from the South Korean team, including a traditional fan dance. It is such an honour to celebrate who God is from a wide range of cultures, our God is BIG! Part of the reason for the Sunday event was to invite people to a bigger event that would happen on the Tuesday.
On the Tuesday we didn't perform our dance, but we did have one staff and two disciples in the choir and other staff members interceded during the whole event. We were also able to have a stand to try and sell some of our cards and books, but unfortunately we weren't able to sell many. The event was particularly aimed at reaching young people and rising them up to be a generation living and reaching out to others for God. As well as similar presentations to the ones on the Sunday event, there was another short message, which this time was a translating marathon: starting in Korean, then English then Tagalog. It was a great joy to be able to be a part of this event and see God really move in peoples hearts and Spirit filled worship be released across the whole room. We always love it when we can join together with others as one unified body to celebrate and worship God.
